Generated Password
This password is very weak and can be easily cracked.
Secure Encryption
Passwords are generated locally in your browser. They are never sent to our servers.
True Randomness
Unpredictable passwords generated using cryptographically strong random number generators.
Platform Independent
Works seamlessly on all modern devices including Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, and Android.
What makes a strong password?
A strong password is long, random and different for every account. Length matters most: a random 16-character password with upper and lower case letters, digits and symbols is practically impossible to guess with today's hardware. Predictable information such as birth dates, names or dictionary words makes a password weaker.
Passwords are created with your browser's cryptographic random number generator (crypto.getRandomValues) and are never sent to our server. Only ! and @ are used as symbols; both are accepted almost everywhere, so the password does not run into password rules.
How to use
- 1Choose a password length between 6 and 32 characters; at least 16 is recommended.
- 2Select the character types to use; the password is regenerated on every change.
- 3Copy the password or press Generate New Password for another one.
Frequently asked questions
Are generated passwords stored?
No. The password is generated entirely in your browser; it is not sent to our server and is not stored anywhere. It is gone when you close the page, so save it somewhere safe before using it.
How long should a password be?
At least 16 characters is recommended for important accounts. Each extra character multiplies the number of possible combinations, so a long password is safer than a short but complex one.
Why are only the ! and @ symbols used?
Some systems, router interfaces and configuration files reject certain symbols or interpret them incorrectly. ! and @ are accepted almost everywhere, which makes it less likely that the password breaks a rule; length is what really determines security.
Can I use the same password for several accounts?
It is not recommended. A password leaked in a data breach on one site is tried by attackers on other sites as well. Creating a separate password for each account and keeping them in a password manager is the safest approach.
How is the password strength calculated?
The indicator calculates the number of possible combinations from the password length and the character types used, and estimates how long an attacker making 10 billion guesses per second would need to find it.
